melting fusion
Corning, New York, USA
A bonus we never bargained for came in the form of a detour to the Corning Glass Factory on the way back from the Niagara Falls. A typical attraction infested with Indian and Chinese tourists coming by daily with the Chinatown tour buses, Corning initially didn’t hold any value for me. That’s probably the reason we never chose it in the first place on our itinerary. However, the beauty of glass being blown, melted, fused and formed enchanted me. It’s an art I was aware yet oblivious to. There is something magical in watching an artist at work, than seeing the final art itself. The subtle movement’s of the artist hand’s has an equal if not more beauty than the art being created. It’s not as personal as clay, you can’t mold it with bare hands, but the balance and equilibrium of the artist forming glass was comparable in my eyes to that of a dancer. Watching the glass being melted and fused, i wished to try my hand at it someday comparable in my eyes to that of a dancer. Watching the glass being melted and fused, i wished to try my hand at it someday
